STL has developed specialised skills in the manufacture of HV Testing Transformers, and is now recognised as the leading UK manufacture in the field.

Testing Transformers are normally designed for natural air-cooling and their sheet steel tanks are filled with mineral oil, Midel or silicon-fluid according to requirements.

Where space is limited, or liquid dielectrics are not acceptable, resin cast units provide yet a further option. Air insulated units tend to be the most practical and economic option where lower voltages are involved.

Available with graded or fully insulated windings, the range is manufactured with ratings up to 150kV as standard. However, for more specialised applications, higher voltages and power outputs can be provided
