Stewart Transformers is a renowned specialist transformer manufacturer engaged in the design, engineering, manufacture, and supply of a wide range of transformers and other wound components up to 2.0MVA in rating, and for system voltages up to 33kV
Stewart Transformers has developed considerable expertise in voltages typically up to 33kV (for HT Testing Transformers 200kV ).
Stewart Transformers began as a small operation supplying transformers to the London radio repair sector, just prior to the second world war.
During the war the still fledging company was called upon, as part of the war effort, to supply transformers to the naval arm of the Ministry of Defence, starting a relationship which was set to continue for decades.
After the war, the company was formally established in Kilburn Lane in North London, under the name Stewart Transformers. The company traded continuously from the same address for the next forty years as predominantly MoD supplier. This trading relationship led in 1974, to the establishment of a quality system under second party assessment by the Ministry of Defence Standard 05-21 (later NATO AQAP-1 level)
In 1985 the Company moved to a new specifically equipped premises in the Park Royal area of North London.
The company has also expanded from its traditional markets (railways, shipbuilding, defence, semiconductor manufacture and HT testing) , to include manufacturers of Earthing Products and High Powered Laser products, large Power transmission and Distribution OEMs and Regional Electricity Companies.
